Appointment Pool

Churchlands Senior High School (SHS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and committed Administrative Support Officer - Facilities & Assets for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.

In this role, suitable applicants would provide general Administrative Support to the Manager Corporate Services (MCS) and Principal in the daily operations of the school, including administering the faults management budget. You would also assist the MCS in monitoring the cleaning and gardening services and ensuring facilities, equipment, buildings and school buses are maintained.

As a member of our administration team, you will ideally possess experience in school record and information system management. The ability to maintain effective working relationships and connections with internal and external providers will be highly advantageous, as part of this role may include obtaining quotations and coordinating minor works within the school grounds.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • Experience in general clerical and administrative duties.
  • Organisational skills with the ability to use initiative and work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in monitoring and maintaining facilities, equipment and buildings.
  • Written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels.

Eligibility and training requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
