The School's administration team provides Administrative Support and assistance within the School of Systems and Computing to ensure effective delivery of the teaching and research activities within School. The Administrative Support Officer plays a key role in the establishment, maintenance and improvement of School Systems and processes to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the school.
Responsibilities:
Perform various operational tasks, including but not limited to:
- Managing sessional staff employment and payment cycles
- Handling administration for recruitment activities
- Preparing personnel documentation
- Facilitating student evaluations
- Providing academic teaching support
- Managing financial administration
- Handling function, travel, accommodation, catering, and venue bookings
- Managing meeting correspondence, agenda, notes, and drafting documents
- Drafting correspondence, briefing notes, and reviewing/updating internal procedures and guidelines
- Obtaining, analysing, and preparing complex statistical data and other sources of information
Our ideal candidate will have:
- a degree or equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education training and/or experience.
- Relevant administrative experience, including the ability to consult and liaise with colleagues, and internal and external stakeholders on complex operational queries.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and manage moderately complex tasks with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to, initiate and establish new procedures, guidelines and processes both independently and as a part of a team, escalating issues when necessary.
