The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive Administration & Engagement Officer to assist in delivering high-quality legal services to clients. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of administration and stakeholder engagement functions to ensure the smooth operation of legal services. Your commitment to client confidentiality and professionalism will be crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients and solicitors to provide casework support, legal documentation, and referrals as needed.
- Complete and organise file management tasks, allowing legal staff to focus on their core responsibilities.
- Maintain records and files to the highest standards, always prioritising client confidentiality.
- Ensure the file register is up-to-date and in a state of readiness, reflecting efficient teamwork and service delivery.
- Network and collaborate with community organisations, individuals, men’s and women’s groups, legal service providers, government departments, community justice groups, and other relevant entities. This promotes effective and appropriate service delivery.
- Maintain the Stakeholder Directory, Stakeholder Management Plans, and Community Profile Booklet with the latest service provider details and information.
- Represent the organisation within the community as directed by attending and presenting at meetings, functions, and forums in accordance with the role, objectives, and code of conduct.
- Providing court support to both clients and solicitors to ensure effective service delivery.
- Relevant qualifications in legal or social studies are desirable.
- Proven experience in case management or legal administration.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding.
- Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively and network with diverse community groups.
- Commitment to the organisation’s objectives and code of conduct.
- Be able and willing to travel once per month to Torres Strait Island and Bamaga
- Hold a current open Queensland Driver’s Licence
- Hold a working with children Blue Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Willingness to undertake a National Police Clearance check.
