Advisor, Major Criminal Cases

• Part time ongoing position (3 days a week)
• Salary based on experience, range: $98,902 - $123,624 pro rata plus super
• Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model

In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring that funding decisions for indictable criminal matters are not only made with precision and efficiency, but also contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and services. As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

• A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory).
• Legal practice experience in indictable crime (mandatory).
• Ability to make quality decisions on funding requests for indictable matters.
• Track record in supporting and implementing process improvements, particularly in funding Major Criminal Cases.
• Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships, and facilitating open communication with stakeholders.
• Capability to critically analyse complex situations and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Familiarity with legal frameworks surrounding criminal trials and funding procedures.
• Proactive approach to professional development and dedication to delivering high-quality outcomes.
