We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional to provide critical Health & Safety advice and support. This is a full time, permanent position currently based at Doncaster.
About the role
Reporting to the Lead Safety Advice & Support, the Safety Advisor is a service driver who uses expert knowledge and experience to align people and business strategies to achieve Health and Safety imperatives.
The responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:
- Contribute to the analysis, review and development of a risk profile, hazard, incident, and injury data by identifying local priority areas, evaluating opportunities, and making recommendations for sound and practical improvement
- Proactively implement health and safety strategy through the interpretation and application of key specialist health and safety programs and initiatives
- Effective application of processes to ensure practice adheres to governing legislation and policy, complying as per audit recommendations and system reviews
- Drive results through the provision of Health & Safety support expertise, service practices and advice
- Provide on-the-job education and training to managers, colleagues and staff in AV's health and safety suite of programs, systems, and practices
About you
To be considered for this role you will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent (Desirable)
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of OHS legislation and skills and experience in its practical application
- Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in the implementation, maintenance, and review of safety management systems (AS/NZS 4801:2001, SafetyMap or equivalent) and safety audits
- Proficiency in computerised programs and Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, and Access
- A current Victorian Driver's Licence and the willingness to travel as required
