Waratah is a well-established service in the South West Region of Western Australia. Waratah provides responsive and innovative family and domestic violence and sexual assault support and therapeutic programs. These programs include counselling, assessment, safety planning and advocacy for children, young people, adults and their families.

The RolesWaratah aims to expand our services to provide advocacy and Case Management for clients on the road to living a life free from violence and abuse. The models of practice will focus on trauma informed, strengths based and culturally safe frameworks to deliver holistic, respectful support and advocacy.
Both roles are funded for a 2-year period to June 2026.
Position 1: Advocacy Support Worker (SACS Level 3)
This role provides an opportunity for a new graduate, current student from a relevant course or a trainee who wishes to pursue a career in Community Services.
Working alongside the Advocacy Case Manager, the Advocacy Support Worker will implement Case Management plans with clients including seeking information and pathways for interagency referrals, booking appointments and administering client financial support packages where needed.
Essential Criteria
- Planning to commence, working towards or recently completed Certificate III or IV in Community Services or similar
- Have diverse lived experience and/or cultural expertise
- Aspire to engage in further formal study and/or develop significant experience in supporting clients from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Knowledge of advocacy, Case Management and reflective practice
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of sexual assault and domestic violence issues

Position 2: Advocacy Case Manager (SACS Level 4/5 depending on qualifications and experience)
This role will work with clients to assess needs, plan and coordinate referrals and facilitate the implementation of service programs through effective communications and advocacy.

Essential Criteria
- Hold relevant bachelor's degree in social work or a related discipline.
Or less formal qualifications plus and a minimum of two years relevant Community Services experience and lived experience or cultural expertise to perform at this level - Knowledge of and experience in advocacy and Case Management
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people with ease and sensitivity
- Demonstrated high levels of initiative and reflective practice
- Knowledge and understanding of sexual assault and domestic violence issues and the impact of trauma
- Ability to work with and empower individuals and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds
