Riverwood Community Centre is a not for profit community organisation that has operated in Riverwood for over 49 years and has an outstanding reputation in working for the local community. 

The Role

As the Aged Care and NDIS Services Manager you will provide leadership and management across RCC's Aged Care services and teams and you will work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the RCC management team. 

You will be a collaborative, professional, with exceptional management skills. Experienced in Aged Care or Disability service provision is essential. You are confident, proactive, hands on, with excellent people management and communications skills at all levels, and renowned for your ability to manage multiple priorities and achieve your strategic plan. 

Reporting to the CEO and the Board of Directors, as the Aged Care and NDIS Services  Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing safe, respectful, equitable and inclusive services and supports.
  • Using your leadership and management experience to minimise risk, build growth and ensure compliance. 
  • Utilising your understanding of sector issues and reform to generate increased referrals and build and create new viable service types and supports.
  • Effectively developing, delivering, managing and monitoring service activities to achieve KPI's and strategic plan.
  • Assisting in writing tenders, grant proposals and funding applications. 
  • Reporting weekly progress against KPI's and the Strategic Plan to the CEO.
  • Leading cultural change to ensure high performing Aged Care teams and services.  
  • Submitting a monthly report to the CEO for the Board of Directors and to attend Board Meetings as required.
  • Performance managing your team and/or individuals within the team. 

Essential Criteria:-

To have success as the Aged Care and NDIS Services Manager you will be a committed and energetic leader, who is committed to the delivery of high-quality services that focus on safety, respect and inclusion for people who are ageing and their carers. 

You must meet the following criteria:-

  1. Demonstrated experience in an operational leadership role, in the Aged Care and/or Disability sector, where you have led and developed a team through periods of change in a positive and inclusive manner.
  2. Understanding and knowledge in relation to contemporary reforms, legislation and standards, impacting the age care sector and managing compliance and accreditation.
  3. Skills and experience in writing policy, relevant to the Aged Care or Disability Sector.
  4. Proven ability in budget development, financial oversight and achieving business growth.
  5. Understanding and demonstrated experience meeting the needs of people who are ageing and their carers and building referral numbers.
  6. Strong knowledge, understanding and engagement experience in working within communities and with CALD backgrounds and preferably with an understanding of a second language.
  7. Excellent writing and communication skills and experience in writing tenders and grants.
  8. Excellent skills in completing reports and data management for the funding body, General Manager and Board of Directors. 
  9. Experience in managing and delivering support under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  10. Proven experience in identifying, recruiting and leading volunteers, student placements and community based groups and leading performance management where required.
  11. Ability to work cohesively within a team structure, ensuring that professional relationships are established across all RCC Departments and their Staff, as well as Board Members, Volunteers and other Stakeholders; to ensure that the Mission and Goals of the organisation are achieved.
  12. Ensuring the accurate recording of all relevant client information (e.g. data base, client notes, incident reports, service delivery issues, case plans, expenditures etc.), whilst upholding organisational principles regarding confidentiality.
  13. Highly developed communication, IT, negotiation, problem-solving and analytical skills. 
  14. Demonstrated practice in regard to professional boundaries.
  15. Computer literacy - with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, DEX, HMS and My Aged Care  and/or NDIS Portals.
  16. Adhere to the Riverwood Community Centre’s policies and procedures.
  17. Current Driver’s Licence Class C.
  18. Current First Aid Qualification.
  19. Current Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Check and a willingness to undergo a National Police Check.

Highly Desirable:-

  • Demonstrate a sound knowledge about issues affecting the Not-for-Profit sector, particularly in relation to governance matters, and the ability to engage with and work with community organisations in accordance with RCC’s Charter.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/ or experience in social work, nursing, community sector, health and management.
  • Ability to utilise social media, as well as community networks, to promote and provide services.
  • Ability to investigate and advise on new funding opportunities related to the services.
  • Good communication skills with funding bodies, governments and non-government organisations and other stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge about community and Not-for-profit governance. 
  • Good knowledge about government changes in the Aged Care and Disability Sector. 
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the RCC  management team as well as with the Board, to meet the strategic plan, mission and objectives of RCC.
  • Past experience in applying for and achieving registration as a Home Care Packages (HCP) provider.

Objectives:-

  • Work with the CEO to secure accreditation under the new Aged Care Reforms - Support at Home program.
  • Deliver new effective and efficient programs and activities in line with the identified needs of community/ client groups.
  • Commitment to high standards of a person centered approach to service provision, social inclusion and community development principles.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and ensure compliance with WHS requirements in your areas of responsibility.
  • Orientation of volunteers and students to ensure compliance with organisational requirements.
  • Compliance in relation to funding specifications and reporting accountability.
  • Data collection, surveys and regular reports, against specifications as per the funding agreement.
  • The ability to enrich the lives of participants via capacity building initiatives. 
  • Participate in the running of significant RCC community events.
  • Write new tenders & grants and report to the General Manager and Board.
  • Participate co-operatively in building a supportive and cohesive working environment as outlined within the Code of Conduct.
  • Working in partnership with other stakeholders to deliver programs and activities, according to needs and in line with the set Outputs noted within the CHSP Services Agreement.
  • Ensure that all relevant data information, particularly those in regard to DEX requirements, are maintained and reported upon, as required; particularly in relation to My Aged Care & the Health Management System (HMS).
Organisational Relationships

The Aged Services  and NDIS Manager is responsible, accountable and reports directly to the Centre’s CEO.

This list is not exhaustive, the Aged CareServices Manager may be asked to undertake other responsibilities at the request of the General Manager, in line with the position description and the strategic direction of the organisation.
