This large scale, core Federal Government agency based out of a modern, Canberra City office is a crucial player in Australia's biosecurity, trade and environmental landscape.
Your new role
As Agile Coach & Trainer, you'll be leading the Agile capability uplift across one of the Department's flagship ICT Transformation programs and its related business areas. Your daily responsibilities would include:
- Provide training and support, in the first instance, to program members who have not previously worked in agile delivery.
- Uplift much of the program simultaneously to be working together with understanding and experience.
- Lead and coach product teams to deliver product artefacts and continuous improvement in product and system enhancements and efficiency improvements.
- Work with key members to analyse current delivery methods and processes and design a strategy for adopting improved agile practices.
- Create agile awareness, and support cohorts such as the Delivery Managers to engage in their forums.
- Guide teams on how to stay on track with agile techniques, fine-tuning their approach to ensure that the overall strategy is being met.
- Design, lead and support communications and engagement activities that build organisational understanding of user-centred delivery approaches.
- Drive cultural change by championing an agile mindset, and ensuring the Program adheres to best practice.
What you'll need to succeed
- A strong successful and proven track record as an Agile Coach in driving and supporting the adoption of improved practices within Federal Government settings.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach, mentor and lead teams at all levels.
- Proven Agile knowledge and its application e.g., certified in one or more formal frameworks or methodology to an expert level.
- Proven coaching, mentoring, negotiation and influencing skills commensurate with leading organisational change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate Agile events, workshops and training.
- Through a continuous improvement mindset, a recognisable passion for helping teams succeed.
- Established ability to influence with/without authority.

- An hourly contracting rate aligned with experience level ($130-150/hr inc.)
