The Opportunity
In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.
BDA is looking for a Senior Technical Officer (Airframe/Engines) to support the most modern and capable configuration of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. The role is to be based in Enoggera, Brisbane with the Army customer in an integrated Attack Helicopter System Program Office (AHSPO).
As a Senior Technical Officer (Airframe/Engines) within BDA, you will
* Provide technical and task supervision in a single or cross-trade team, supporting both high priority activity and longer-term tasks.
* Provide technical support for maintenance, repair and preventive measures that ensure continued safe and economic operations of mechanical, fluid and pneumatic systems.
* Act as a conduit between engineering, maintenance and supply chain.
* Communicate and works to articulate and resolve design and operational issues and concerns with Engineers and maintenance personnel,
* Apply mechanical systems technical knowledge to research, develop, test and evaluate operations, support programs, modifications, repairs and technical data,
* Assist multi-disciplinary engineering and ground support personnel with fault finding, troubleshooting and solution development,
* Develop in-service correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment, and
* Develop, maintains and releases, engineering documentation and data by applying company, industry and governmental standards.
* Required AASB Engineering Authority: Logistics Engineer.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
* [Essential] 8 years+ technical experience in mechanical maintenance and/or engineering teams at supervisory level
* (Desirable) prior aircraft technician defence service or defence industry/airline mechanical experience on rotary wing/combat aircraft systems
* (Desirable) completion of DASR 21, Part M, Type cert courses
* Meet Defence security and ITAR requirements.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
Relocation is available for the preferred applicant.
