Lead, co-ordinate and monitor all technical aspects of Maintenance activities for asset management services including planned, corrective and emergency maintenance works.
The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Technical Officerto join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Manage and coordinate the delegated trade services staff, providing hi-level technical direction in electrical, mechanical and hydraulic disciplines and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and divisional policies
- Provide expert technical advice on operational and maintenance activities to provide corrective, statutory and preventative maintenance
- Develop and manage Standard Operating Procedures to ensure maintenance activities are carried out to industry best practise
- Develop and manage a critical spares inventory system to ensure continuity of services
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A relevant engineering qualification or Mechanical/Electrical trade qualification is desirable
- While not mandatory, an ability to perform the role of Qualified Technical Person (QTP) under the Electrical Safety Act 2002, would be well regarded
- Technical problem recognition, analytical and problem solving skills and/or experience in managing a large infrastructure and asset base would be well regarded
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $132 072 - $141 738 per annum

Maintenance Services sits within the service line of Asset Management Services within the Strategic Planning and Assets Division and comprises of a maintenance manager, maintenance coordinators, administrative staff, trade coordinators and approximately twenty trade staff including apprentices.
