We are seeking a dedicated and experienced technician to join our dynamic team at UniSQ.  As the ideal candidate, you possess a strong foundation in coordinating and facilitating specialised technical support in areas of Allied Health and have a genuine interest in supporting practical learning experiences for students.  Your proactive approach, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence align perfectly with the responsibilities of this role.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Manager (Technical Support Services), you will apply your extensive experience in technical support to:

  • Coordinate technical support for the conduct of practical classes, oversight of set-up, maintenance and provision of teaching and learning spaces;
  • Supervise and provide training on the efficient use of equipment and materials, techniques and procedures of specialist equipment, software and online services to staff and students;
  • Provide specialist support for processes relating to work health and safety audit and risk assessments with school, work area or teaching area hazards;
  • Participate in the design and construction of research equipment, conducting experimental programs under general direction;
  • Analyse specialised and complex technical information and data.

What will help you succeed

Key to your success in this role will be your broad technical expertise in the use, maintenance and demonstration of laboratory equipment, and knowledge of advanced techniques and procedures used in the Allied Health environment.  You will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual who thrives on working with a positive team of professionals.  Additionally, you will have:

  • a tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline or field with subsequent extensive work experience in a sport and exercise, Allied Health, technical, laboratory, or teaching environment, or specialist expertise in a technical field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training;
  • demonstrated ability to lead the interpretation and application of workplace health and safety principles, standards and practices; and
  • an ability to contribution to continuous improvement of service delivery through the ongoing coordination, implementation and review of processes.

Term:  Full-time continuing appointment (36 hrs/week)

Salary:  Total remuneration range $112,314 to $124,193 pa (includes salary range of $94,900 to $104,937 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
