THE ROLEReporting to the Operations Manager, we are looking for a practical and motivated candidate to join our field team in Unanderra and fill the role of Air Monitoring Technician. This role will suit a candidate who enjoys physical work as the position involves lifting heavy equipment and a considerable amount of travel to perform testing (travel allowance provided).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThe successful candidate will be trained in our safety, quality, sampling methodology and operational procedures and will be primarily responsible for:
- measuring and performing air quality tests
- associated preparation, cleaning, maintenance & calibration of equipment
- analysing air quality data
- troubleshooting testing issues
- summarising data into relevant reporting formats
- preparing JSA’s
- Supporting Air Monitoring Consultants/Project Managers
- This is an entry level position so all work experience will be considered, particularly experience which involves physical labour.
- A degree in a related discipline is beneficial, however not mandatory.
- A team player, with attention to detail and good communication skills
- Self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and data management
- Of a scientific mind with strong critical-thinking and analytical skills
In addition, the successful candidate must:
- Have a willingness to travel (estimated at an average of 8 nights away per month)
- Have a valid drivers licence (probationary licence is acceptable)
- Be comfortable with working at heights
- Have a general level of fitness and the ability to lift loads of 25kg.
It is also essential that candidates are willing to learn environmental testing and keep abreast of new trends and regulations in the industry.
