LGI is a specialist business in landfill gas management and renewable energy generation. Our core business is to extract the biogas that’s produced in landfills, and treat it in flaring units (to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions) or gas engines (to produce renewable electricity).
ABOUT THE POSITION
The role is full time and is primarily based in Western Sydney area, with occasional travel to other work sites within regional NSW.
The Environmental Monitoring Technician will have the following responsibilities:
- Routine sampling and monitoring of biogas from landfill
- Data interpretation and analysis
- Operating and maintaining field sampling equipment
- Regular reporting and collaboration with customers
- Supporting the field teams in delivering monitoring services as required
- Travel to various sites within 3hrs of Sydney to perform monitoring duties
Mandatory Requirements:
- Strong communication skills
- Safety focused
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills
- Current Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence with the ability to drive manual 4WD vehicles
- Computer literacy
- Flexibility in work hours to accommodate company schedules in the outdoor environment
Desirable
- Tertiary studies in Environmental Science or a related discipline
- Experience in the environmental or laboratory sectors
- Experience using gas analyser equipment
- Experience working in outdoor environments in all conditions
- Experience within the landfill industry
Additional Information:
- Remuneration is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Role will include the use of a company 4WD vehicle for business use
