Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Facilitator

Lives Lived Well provide an alternative to residential rehabilitation with our Group Day Rehabilitation Programs – providing clients with the opportunity to build a network of support and learn from each other while being supported by a professional counsellor. The program is run on weekdays, and provides group therapy, education and information, and health and life skills.

Your Opportunity

We are currently looking for an experienced Alcohol and Other Drugs Counsellor/Facilitator to join our geographically diverse team in North Queensland.  This is a full-time position based at our Mackay office working in our Day Program, providing program facilitation, case management, and counselling.

The salary for this role is $82,000 - $87,000 plus Super and Salary Packaging of up to $15,900 annually. 

What we are looking for

With an established career in AOD or Mental Health, you will be confident and capable with all aspects of group facilitation and case management, and will offer the following skills and attributes:

• Experience working with a broad range of adult clients
• A background in the development of individual treatment plans and facilitation of group programs
• Knowledge of pre- and post-program support and relapse prevention planning
• Robust understanding of cultural awareness and safety with the capacity to support people from diverse backgrounds
• Self-starting and self-managing - you will be required to manage your caseload on a daily basis
• Being a team player is important, but you will also need to be comfortable working independently
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Confidence to contribute to case conferences and team discussions with an eagerness for ongoing change and improvements
• Able to produce accurate, relevant reports and case-notes while complying with all legislative requirements

You will need to have a degree in the field of Human Services, or a Diploma and several years of experience, hold a current Australian Drivers Licence, and a National Police Check.
