About The Role:
Due to continual growth, we are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Allied Health Assistant, who is dedicated to providing therapeutic services to promote our elderly consumers independence and well-being to enable them to remain living in their own homes within Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and Port Stephens
This role will be flexible across Monday to Friday with the successful applicant being able to flex up to full time hours as and when required by service demands, with an opportunity to be offered Permanent part time in the future.
What you will be doing –
- Work under the guidance of our highly qualified Allied Health professionals to carry out duties which complement the therapy program of a consumer
- Carry out face-to-face and non face-to-face tasks that bring life changing experiences to participants
- Work with consumers in their home or community environment
- You will play a critical part of the service delivery between the consumer and the therapist
- An excellent rapport builder and motivator, you will engage the consumer using your empathetic nature to model components of a new routine or skill, and provide prompting when needed
About You:
As a key NovaCare ambassador and highly visible organisational representative, you will project a positive and professional image that enhances the reputation of NovaCare as a provider of choice within the community.
What you need to succeed -
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
- Demonstrated ability to follow instruction and respect scope of practice boundaries
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Understanding of the role of an Allied Health Assistant within a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, manage time effectively and complete activities
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications
- Current NSW driver’s license and willingness to drive for work purposes
- Own reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
- Current Covid-19 Vaccination
