Position SummaryAllied Health Assistant - Grade 2 (Patient Transport)Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking an Allied Health Assistant to join our Allied Health team on a part time, ongoing basis.The Allied Health Assistant supports patient transport between our Rehabilitation Units and the Allied Health department so patients can participate in therapy.This position would be ideal for someone entering the health field.Allied Health Assistants are involved in the provision of therapy support services under the supervision of Clinicians.There is opportunity to extend across various Allied Health disciplines in clinical areas such as Acute and Sub-Acute Inpatient, and Sub-Acute Ambulatory care, in addition to patient transport. - Successful completion (or working towards) of a nationally recognised Cert 3 or Cert 4 Allied Health Assistant course
- Previous experience in the provision of patient transport and/or therapy support services, including individual and/or group therapy
- Sound knowledge base in areas particular to the provision of Allied Health Assistant services
- Familiarity with computers
- Sound organisational and time-management skills
- Self-motivation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
Desirable: Successful completion or working towards completion of at least the Certificate III (Allied Health Assistance) from a registered training organisation; or equivalent
Desirable: Successful completion of the Certificate IV (Allied Health Assistance) from a registered training organisation
Desirable: Previous experience in provision of therapy support services, including group and/or individual therapy and/or patient transport
Desirable: Sound knowledge base in areas particular to the provision of Allied Health Assistant services
