Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Speech PathologyAllied Health Assistant (AHA) with a strong interest in and commitment to providing patient centred, clinical and administrative support to the Speech Pathology team at KDHS. This part time AHA will provide services under the direction and supervision of a certified practicing speech pathologist, across paediatric Community Health and NDIS settings.
Tasks & Responsibilities
· Provide therapy programs to children under the guidance of a certified practicing speech pathologist, supporting children's communication, play, social skills and literacy development.
· Attend regular clinical supervision with certified practicing speech pathologists.
· Assist our Speech Pathology team to implement group based therapy programs for children.
· Keeping client files accurate and up to date.
· Work collaboratively with the therapy team to provide quality Speech Pathology services.
· Assist in the development of resources for therapy programs.
· Perform administrative tasks to contribute to the efficient delivery of services as directed by the Speech Pathology team.
· Attend professional development opportunities as required to increase knowledge and skills in the provision of Speech Pathology services.
Desired Experience & Attributes
· Current Speech Pathology student or interested in Speech Pathology.
· Passionate about working with children.
· Flexible and able to adapt to new situations and multi task.
· Strong interpersonal skills and make clients feel welcome and comfortable.
· Demonstrate strong and efficient organisational skills.
· Able to work within a team or independently.
· Demonstrate integrity, reliability, trustworthiness and responsibility.
· Previous experience working with children.
