The Role
An opportunity has become available for two Allied Health Practitioners – Senior (Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Coordinators) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Independently apply professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice, based on valid and reliable evidence
- Apply high level clinical skills for this complex diagnostic group including cognitive strategies, communication, psychological adjustment and behaviour management/support
- Utilise high level communication and negotiation skills within complex community networks to establish sustainable service and support networks
- Work collaboratively with patients and families, health professionals, community service providers including Non-government Organisations, supervisors, students and researchers, as required
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A relevant tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Worker or Speech Pathology
- AHPRA Registration or eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers or Speech Pathology Australia
- Drivers Licence
- Blue Card (GCH will cover cost)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time and temporary part time (one full time position, one part time position, 38 hours per fortnight, up to six months with possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $4769.60 - $5132.40 per fortnight or $62.75 – $67.53 per hour
About Us
This position works within the Brain Injury Community Integration Service, it is an interdisciplinary team that provides post-discharge rehabilitation programs to improve the continuity of client care by emphasising co-ordination of services across inpatient, outpatient and community-based domains. The Community Rehabilitation Program provides a time limited and comprehensive multidisciplinary community based rehabilitation to adults over the age of 18 years.
