Access theAbout the roleThe position delivers high quality evidence based Social Work/Psychology/Occupational Therapy clinical services in the assessment and treatment of consumers with complex mental health issues. This role works within the multidisciplinary team and care is delivered for consumers, their families, carers, and relevant stakeholders in both acute and community settings. The majority of MIRT service provision occurs in the consumer's home inclusive of medication dispersal. Interventions can also occur within a community clinic, general practice or other nominated places with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery and trauma-informed rehabilitation framework.About youIn terms of technical knowledge, skills and experience and within the context of the responsibilities described above under Key Accountabilities, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated competent level of contemporary knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and skill in the management of consumers with a moderate to severe level of mental illness including an ability to undertake assessment, formulation, and interventions with a focus on supporting consumer recovery and self-management.
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively using well developed oral and written communication skills to enable effective interaction with consumers, carers, and other stakeholders in individual and group situations.
- Demonstrated experience in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities and the ability to provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced staff members and education to students commensurate with level of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to align with discipline specific Model of Practice to assist with treatment formulation and implementation.
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles, processes and environments that support recovery and an ability to work within Trauma Informed and Recovery Frameworks.
