At NWRH, we provide Allied Health, Home and Community Supports, Mental Health and Wellbeing and headspace services throughout rural, regional and remote Queensland. Our goal is to assist in improving the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of the clients we work with.
We serve over 50 communities across remote, rural and regional areas of Australia, including Townsville, Mount Isa, Longreach, Normanton, Doomadgee, Cloncurry and Mornington Island.
The Allied Health Team Leader position supports our East Coast Allied Health team which is based in our Townsville office, while providing health services to the Townsville region and outreach services to the surrounding communities of Ayr, Home Hill, Bowen, Cannonvale, Airlie Beach, Proserpine, Mackay, Moranbah, Dysart, Clermont, Charters Towers, Hughenden, Richmond, Ingham, and Cardwell (or: Local Government areas; Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Whitsundays, Isaac and Palm Island). The Allied Health Team Leader position supports up to 10 Allied Health clinicians in the provision of these services and works in conjunction with the NWRH leadership team to achieve positive health outcomes for some of our most vulnerable populations.
About the Opportunity
As Allied Health Team Leader, you'll drive the operational leadership and oversee the strategic delivery of Allied Health services in collaboration with other Team Leaders and General Managers. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence service delivery models and contribute to the professional growth of your team.
- Provide operational leadership and supervision to a team of Allied Health therapists including Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Allied Health Assistants and a Continence Nurse.
- Work collaboratively with Exercise Physiologist, Dietitian, Podiatrist, Diabetes Educator and Physiotherapist Team Leaders to ensure a holistic and multidisciplinary service model.
- Investigate, develop, and implement innovative, outcome-focused, and financially viable service delivery models in collaboration with General and Executive Management.
- Support professional development, fostering an environment of growth and succession planning among team members.
- Lead the continuous development and improvement of services and programs in occupational therapy, speech pathology, NDIS and Aged Care service delivery.
- Work with a not for profit organisation that has been committed to providing quality, primary health care services to vulnerable populations and rural and remote communities for over 30 years.

Successful candidates will receive an attractive remuneration salary starting at $102,000 PLUS a host of further benefits including:

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in an Allied Health profession and registration with AHPRA or membership with relevant professional association
- More than four (4) years post qualification experience in area of discipline
- Proven experience leading and coordinating activities a multi-disciplinary team, preferably within a primary health care environment.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, monitoring and evaluating programs and services.
- Demonstrated experience supervising multi-disciplinary teams, providing guidance and support to team members
- Strong leadership skills to support a team of health professionals
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to coordinate and deliver holistic, culturally appropriate and integrated Allied Health services and programs.
- High level communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate solutions to issues as they arise
- Ability to apply a high level of clinical and professional judgement in the delivery of services and programs
