Ambassador

The Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Service are looking for an Ambassador to join their team. Metro South Addictions and Mental Health Services (MSAMHS) provide inpatient, hospital based and community mental health services in addition to alcohol and drug services to all age groups at several campuses across Metro South Health. MSAMHS is committed to the provision of services that are patient centred and recovery focused. Mental Health Services are guided by the Mental Health Act 2016.

Metro South Health is Australia's first digital health service and one of the largest in Queensland, with an estimated residential population of approximately one million people or 23 per cent of Queensland's population.

About the Role

• Create opportunities to enhance the user experience by making connections with those in the area and, where possible, alleviating some of the stresses and anxiety through respectful interpersonal interactions.
• Uses supportive verbal techniques and engages staff resources to identify appropriate strategies aimed at the de‐escalation of potentially inappropriate, aggressive or violent behaviour.
• Develops relationships and maintains liaison with clinical and operational stakeholder groups (i.e. Nursing, Medical, Allied Health, and Security) in order to ensure effective communication and consultation in the development of appropriate support and/or intervention strategies.
