YOUR ROLE
As a Perils Pricing Analyst in our finance division, you will be responsible for delivering Perils Pricing and reinsurance costs to the IAG business units across Australia and NZ.
You will collaborate with team members who have expertise in actuarial sciences, engineering, GIS and catastrophe modelling where your technical background will build on this knowledge to deliver analytical insights to the Group.
This is a permanent opportunity based in Sydney.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining analytical tools to provide insights on natural perils risk, pricing, profitability, and affordability.
- Building analytical application designs and prototyping to test ideas and drive innovation on perils risk and climate risk solutions.
- Conducting exploratory data analysis, methodological research, and experiments to contribute to innovative analytics solutions.
- Maintaining natural perils cost allocations and pricing processes, and managing internal stakeholders across the business.
- Provide analytical support to the Pricing & Engineering team on perils including earthquake, flood, bushfire, cyclone, storm and hail.
- Assist in the delivery of peril risk models for both reinsurance and risk-based pricing applications.
- Tertiary qualification/s in actuarial sciences, statistics, applied mathematics, engineering, or related disciplines.
- Good understanding of data modelling techniques, statistical methods, tools/languages such as R, SAS, SQL, ArcGIS.
- Hands on data management and analytics experience, ideally gained from general insurance or financial services sector.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary fast-paced team whilst also autonomously in a solutions orientated manner
- Technological awareness and willingness to keep abreast of latest techniques and technologies.
