As a result of internal promotion, an exciting and challenging science opportunity has become available in one of our laboratories for a Chemist to perform pesticide, mycotoxin and potentially other organic chemistry analyses.
Reporting to the FWE Lab Manager, your duties would include:
· Routine sample preparation.
· Operation of analytical equipment (GCMSMS, LCMSMS).
· Generate test results within customers’ expected turnaround times.
· Assisting the Lab Manager to maintain our NATA accreditation and further extend our scope of testing.
· Calibration of equipment and maintaining related records.
· Perform and document all maintenance on instruments under supervision by the Lab Manager
· Maintain consumables inventory and perform housekeeping tasks.
· Research and develop potential testing methods for FWE Lab.
To be successful in this role you must have:
· Bachelor of Science with a major in Chemistry.
· GCMSMS or LCMSMS experience.
· Prior laboratory experience, preferably in a commercial laboratory environment.
· Ability to work to a high standard of speed and accuracy.
· Ability to manage time effectively, problem identify and solve, prioritise tasks/workload.
· Ability to assist in new validation and method improvement work.
· General computer skills.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to work reliably with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
· Commitment to safety.
Well regarded:
