The Alfred Research Alliance (ARA) is a vibrant collaborative community in Melbourne, dedicated to excellence in medical research and education. The precinct operates an Animal facility called AMREP AS Pty Ltd (AAS).
Due to AAS growth we have an exciting opportunity for a trainee Animal Technician Level AT3 who can undertake activities that support and encompass Animal production, animal care and husbandry, laboratory and core facility operation.
The successful applicants will be experienced or a trainee prepared to continue their training in:
- Animal husbandry and production, particularly in rodents (Rats and mice)
- Undertaking and or completed a relevant qualification.
Over time this position may increase in hours.
Must be able to demonstrate:
- Capacity to contribute positively to the day to day efficient functioning of activities
- Superior customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills (including word, excel and access database)
- Organisational and time management skills
- Initiative, adaptability, and the capacity to work autonomously
- A Strong desire to learn new skills
- Experience desirable but not absolutely necessary
