Your new role
Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for building meaningful relationships and driving industry engagement? This is an exciting opportunity for an Engagement Officer to join this Queensland Government Department for an initial contract to the end of June. As an Engagement Officer you will play a crucial role in supporting the team and driving successful engagement strategies.
- Assisting with the development, implementation and evaluation of communication, engagement and media strategies that influence behaviour change and achieve key Program objectives.
- Assisting in developing communication, engagement and media material that is effective and adheres to the Program written style and visual identity guidelines.
- Building, maintaining and improving key relationships (internal and external) to enable effective delivery of the Program’s communication, engagement and media. This includes but is not limited to key Program staff, stakeholders and journalists.
- Supporting the team with managing the Program’s reputation, including through its website, social media accounts, newsletters, presentations and media activity.
- Confidently managing multiple projects while meeting hard deadlines and budgets.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the Program by actively innovating and improving strategies, processes, and systems.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience in community and stakeholder engagement including the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of engagement plans
- Strong writing skills are required for this role.
- Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, etc)
- A relevant qualification in communication, journalism or engagement would be highly regarded.
