AO6 Communications Officer

Randstad are proud to currently be partnering with a large State Government Department in assisting to join the team as an AO6 Senior Communications Officer.The role of Senior Communications will provide professional, strategic end-to-end communication management, support, and advice to a wide range of internal and external clients within the team. The role is critical in developing and implementing key communication initiatives, projects and programs supporting the current and future needs.

• Actively participate as a senior member of a team of communication professionals to develop and deliver innovative communication strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with senior management, other Queensland Government agencies and key stakeholders.
• Provide advice on communication strategy and delivery that inform, engage, educate and inspire audiences toward positive behaviour change and to gain social licence.
• Develop, implement and evaluate communication strategies on topics and issues that are strategic priorities for DEC.
• Negotiate with colleagues to assist in the assessment and triaging of both planned and unplanned communications projects.
• Build and maintain a strong knowledge of the department, including objectives, projects, opportunities, and challenges.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement by actively innovating and improving strategies, processes, and systems.
• Maintain an understanding of and adherence to human resource and financial management processes and policies.
• Positively contribute to the continued development of team, branch and organisational culture and staff engagement strategies.
• Fulfill the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Sector values.
• Other duties as directed and required. Occasionally, you may be required to work out of hours at times and participate in on-call activities.

While not mandatory, tertiary qualifications in journalism, professional editing, communications or similar will be highly regarded.They are looking for ‘out-of-the-box' thinkers, with fresh ideas and creative flair, who are keen to work in an environment where no two weeks are ever the same.What You’ll Receive
