- Part-time (60%); fixed-term to June 2025
- HEWL 6 $83,115 - $90,022 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits
- Based at the Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas.
Position Overview
Provide high-quality technical communication and engagement services to promote the engagement, visibility and outreach of the Tropical North Queensland Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub. Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure program outcomes are achieved within timeframes and adhere to compliance with contractual requirements.
Tropical North Queensland Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub (TNQ Hub)
The TNQ Hub is led by James Cook University and based out of the JCU Ideas Lab in Cairns. Working in a ‘hub and spoke’ model, the TNQ Hub is partnered closely with six natural resource management (NRM) groups across Tropical North Queensland (TNQ) to deliver drought resilience activities across the region.
Funded by the Australian Governments Future Drought Fund under the Drought Resilience Research and Adoption Program, the TNQ Hub is one of eight Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hubs across Australia established to support land managers and communities prepare for drought.
The Drought Resilience Research and Adoption Program objective is to invest into collaborative research, development, extension, adoption and commercialization activities. These activities will help land managers and Tropical North Queensland communities to become more prepared for, and resilient to, future droughts.
What you can bring to the role
- Demonstrated experience (or equivalent experience) in activities associated with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) reporting including (but not limited to) data collection, analysis and report writing
- Liaise with diverse internal and external TNQ Drought Hub stakeholders to source required information for the MEL and other purposes
- Demonstrated high level written skills including development of content for a variety of platforms and products, for example the preparation of case studies and fact sheets to inform primary producers and other key TNQ Drought Hub stakeholders
- Strong engagement and communications skills including participation in MEL meetings to ensure that the TNQ Drought Hub meets its reporting requirements in line with the contract held between JCU and the Commonwealth Government.
- Work collaboratively with the TNQ Drought Hub team to help achieve delivery of milestones to the Commonwealth Government
- Travel within the TNQ Hub region (as required)
