Key responsibilities
In this role, you will work in collaboration with the Project Delivery Leads of multiple major ETCS (European Train Control System) deployment projects and will be responsible for developing and implementing project strategy and developing robust risk mitigation plans. You will also be responsible for creating and managing all necessary project documentation to ensure successful delivery of the project within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and manage the scope, program, and budget for the delivery of the works.
- Develop and manage project plans outlining scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
- Effectively manage resources to ensure project outcomes and benefits are achieved.
- Determine the requirements for and understand the impacts of activities within and interfacing with the relevant package scope of works.
- Identify, investigate, mitigate and resolve complex issues associated with the project to improve overall performance and ensure value-for-money project delivery.
- Provide authoritative, strategic and operational advice to the Delivery Lead and Program Director on project procurement and delivery.
- Generate and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and correspondence.
- Develop and manage project risk register.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on related contractual issues and contract performance.
- Ensure the application of all relevant standards, policies, guidelines and legislative requirements necessary to support responsible decisions and quality of outcomes is maintained with respect to all phases of project delivery.
- Work collaboratively with the ETCS Program team to develop a positive team culture and support effective relationships at all levels.
- Develop and maintain ongoing constructive relationships and strategic networks across TMR, Queensland Rail and other government agencies and jurisdictions, industry, stakeholders, community and internal and external clients.
- Manage day to day administration and operation of the project including finance, governance and administration.
Requirements of the role
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Extensive (7+ years) relevant experience in Project and Program Management.
- Comprehensively understands and applies program and project management methodology and principles to achieves outcomes.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including stakeholder management experience.
- Expertise in creating and managing project schedules, ideally with MS Project, and in creating and delivering presentations and decision briefs.
- Proven experience in managing complexity and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with government and Qld Treasury Project Assessment Framework will be highly regarded.
- Experience with rail or similar complex environment will be highly regarded.
