William Booth House (WBH) is located on Gadigal lands in Surry Hills. It offers a withdrawal unit and residential rehabilitation.
About the roleWe are seeking a values-driven and proactive Alcohol and Other Drug Services Case Worker,at our William Booth Recovery Services centre(with partial remote option) in Surry Hills, NSW.
The post-holder will report to the Team Leader and provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.
This is a permanent full-time position. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4.
You will successfullyProvide effective service delivery, ensuring case management, assessment and referral, education and support are provided in accordance with The Salvation Army's guidelines (within a comprehensive participant-led, recovery-based framework).
Develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.
Assess client and program risk and mitigate risk in accordance with TSA policy and procedures.
Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.
Provide reports (oral and/or written) to Team leader as requested.
Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for clients.
Work collaboratively and professionally with other services.
Participate in sector events and training.
Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).
A current NSW Drivers Licence.
First Aid Certificate.
Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.
The ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.
The ability to develop and tailor programs to meet client's needs.
Knowledge of AOD, mental health, community services and health sectors.
Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling and mental health conditions.
Experience working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.
Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions.
Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.
