About Us
The City of Whittlesea is one of the fastest growing municipalities in Australia. As a local government organisation, we play a pivotal role in the everyday lives of our community. Our vision is to make Whittlesea 2040: A Place For All by ensuring our residents can enjoy access to local services, facilities and infrastructure.

Our staff are passionate, skilled and diverse, providing a great environment to work in and succeed.

The Role
This role will provide independent internal review of Council issued infringement notices, making evidence-based review decisions in a way consistent with the principles of the Infringements Act 2006 and Attorney General’s Guidelines. In addition to the key aspect of internal review/appeals, the position will also be required to process driver nominations, payment plans, court requests and support Councils general infringement management.

The position is to exercise both initiative and judgment and undertake reviews to reach considered outcomes and ensure an understanding to the nature and context of their request for a decision to be reviewed, and communicate effectively with participants and their representatives to explain reasons for decisions, the review and appeals process and available options. The role will be required to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the appeals team in order to support decisions.

About you
We are looking for someone who has a sound knowledge and understanding of enforcement legislation relative to Local Government, with experience in internal reviews, and knowledge of the Victoria Fines Reform Act 2014 and Infringements Act 2006, particularly infringement management and the processing of appeals/infringement review.

The ideal person will have strong time management skills, coupled with excellent attention to detail, experience in processing, a good understanding of prioritisation and strong people skills.

If this sounds like you, then you should definitely apply!
