The Role
This key role will provide a high-level administrative support to Council’s organisational wide appeals, prosecutions and regulatory oversite functions, supporting Council in meeting various statutory obligations as an enforcement agency.
The Appeals Support Officer is the key support function of the Appeals team and delivers this by processing all aspects of appeals, infringements, and enforcement matters, including payment plans, court referrals and drivers’ nominations, and assist as required, in the general administration services provided by the department. You will also lead the processing of payment plans and drivers’ nominations, where required provide advice and assistance to members of general public in regard to legislation and policies governing appeals.
About you
We are looking for someone who has a sound knowledge and understanding of enforcement legislation relative to Local Government, with experience of legal processes, the Victoria Fines Reform Act 2014 and Infringements Act 2006, particularly infringement management and the processing of appeals/infringement review.
The ideal person will have strong time management skills, coupled with a good and attention for detail, experience in processing, a good understanding of prioritisation and strong people skills.
