MCS Consulting is seeking an Application Engineer to bridge between the R&D, product management teams and customers managing initial deployment of new products and solutions in pre-release field trials working with key customers on site.
The Product Domain requires experience with applications software and intrinsically safe electronics products including wireless communications in underground mining.
You should be able to install software and hardware, be able to write scripts on Linux, debug software installation issues, create dashboards, and write reports in PowerBI, Grafana or similar products.
You will be expected to contribute your expertise to the evolution of the NPI process with a softer handover between R&D and Sales.
Knowledge and experience required
Education/Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a Computer Science, Electronic engineering or related subject or Mining Engineering
- A minimum of three years experience as an Application Engineer working with enterprise level software and hardware solutions preferably for the mining or manufacturing productivity market
- Demonstrable history of product introduction and deployment of commercially successful software and hardware solutions
- Be able to clearly and effectively lead through collaboration and influence the introduction of new products from concept to lifecycle
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to be able to effectively interact with all stakeholders both internal and external both orally and by formal presentation

This role is based in the Brisbane office and is unsuitable for remote workers. Some travel to sites in Australia will be required.
