Application Support Engineer / System Administrator

• 12 Month Contract + 2 X 12 Month Extension options
• Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide or Melbourne location
• Negotiable rates based on SFIA level (4, 5 or 6)
• Ability to obtain a TSPV Security Clearance

Our Client, a large Federal Government Department with a nation wide presence is seeking Application Support Engineers for current and future requirements to join their division.

Role Description

The Application Support Engineerwill design, implement, configure and administer IT applications to meet specific requirements compatible with agreed systems architectures, corporate standards and operational constraints.

They will administer systems using appropriate tools and techniques that conform to agreed process standards and industry specific regulations. Working in a diverse team environment, this will involve sharing outcomes and experience with others to support development and growth.

This role sits within the Analytic and Intelligent Technology team who provide corporate data science capabilities, and analytic and geospatial platforms.

Required Skills:

• Experience in sustainment of enterprise technology/systems in a medium to large enterprise.
• Fundamentals of infrastructure (hardware, virtualisation, OS, networking)
• Container orchestration and/or distributed computing fundamentals
• Fundamentals of web services (TLS, networking protocols)

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Administration and Application Support of Analytics applications (e.g. Palantir, ESRI ArcGIS, Tableau, PowerBI);
• Minimum 3 year's System Administrator experience;
• Tertiary qualification in a technology field.
