SPX AtoN are seeking an experienced Applications Engineer to meet the increasing global demand for our products and join our growing team. Facilitate the needs of our development projects by collaborating with subject matter experts and make important development and design decisions.
In this position, the successful candidate will contribute to the success of product integration engineering to meet client and/or employer needs. The role also includes facilitating comprehensive pre-sale bid support and post-sale build support for custom bespoke solutions, whilst maintaining budget, schedule, and margin targets.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Application-based solution design and product integration in the electrical field.
- Developing custom system solutions in response to customer requirements and responding to technical sales queries (e.g. solar sizing, mechanical interfaces, electrical parameters, etc.)
- Ensure developed solutions, including features, benefits and technical details are provided to Marketing for release to internal and external customers.
- Provide input into client technical specifications and requirements.
- Guiding new product introduction, by working with sales and marketing to provide all required technical information and training.
- Providing technical support and advice on design changes custom orders, or improvements to ensure product success in all stages of their life cycles and continued integration with other products.
- Collaboration in interdisciplinary development teams in order to produce a solution that meets specification
Skills and experience:
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience and success in a similar Applications Engineering position/s (with a focus on electrical engineering).
- Minimum of 3 years experience in application engineering or electrical engineering
- Ability to read and generate detailed electrical architecture design documentation.
- Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
- Well-developed understanding of manufacturing production processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Relevant industry experience, preferably previous experience in solar-powered systems, navigational aids, or industrial automation
- Degree qualified – Electrical Engineering or similar
- PLC Programming experience is highly desirable.
