Your New Role:
The company currently run a self-managed implementation of Guidewire on their own Azure infrastructure. The vision over time is to move to Guidewire Cloud. You'll own Guidewire solutions for the company and be a business partner internally to end users. You'll report to the General Manager IT and will lead the IT applications team of 5 direct reports across Business Analysts, Testers and Guidewire developers. You'll focus on the strategic integration of Guidewire InsuranceSuite with Microsoft Cloud services to enhance application development, deployment and operational excellence. The role will manage the team that has 50% focus on BAU operations and 50% on projects, development/customisations and change. You'll front the change committee and drive funding requests.
Key responsibilities:
- Leadership and strategic direction for the implementation and integration of Guidewire InsuranceSuite within the Microsoft Cloud ecosystem;
- Establish and nurture strong business partnerships, identifying and leveraging Guidewire solutions to address key business challenges;
- Oversee the lifecycle management of Guidewire applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability within the Microsoft Cloud framework;
- Drive project management activities for IT initiatives, emphasising the seamless integration of Guidewire solutions with Microsoft Azure services;
- Analyse and optimise existing Guidewire and cloud-based applications, recommending advancements that leverage Microsoft Azure's capabilities to improve business processes and service delivery; and
- Maintain robust vendor relations, focusing on those offering Guidewire and Microsoft Cloud solutions and services.
Your Skills and Experience:
Ideally, you'll have:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in the IT industry, with extensive experience in Guidewire InsuranceSuite.You'll ideally have experience with Policy Centre, Billing Centre and Claims Centre;
- Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies highly regarded;
- Demonstrated success in managing IT projects that leverage Guidewire within Microsoft Cloud environments;
- Deep understanding of the insurance industry's operational, regulatory, and technological landscape;
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Strong leadership capabilities, with a focus on innovation, problem-solving, and analytical thinking;
- Proven track record of managing sensitive information, prioritising tasks, and meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment; and
- A proactive, results-driven approach, with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that enhance business performance and customer experience.
