The Health Practice Manager is accountable for performing complex administrative work to support the delivery of health services within an integrated workforce.You will be accountable for organising your workflow and making independent decisions relating to your area of responsibility, and interpreting and providing advice on legislation, policy and procedures. You will undertake reviews, assessments and investigations, and perform clerical/administrative support to achieve results.You will coordinate and contribute to workplace performance, and provide guidance to team members on methods for task completion. You will be expected to review and develop the quality of work undertaken by others, identifying opportunities for on-the-job training within the workplace.You will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to achieve organisational outcomes. Joint Health Unit – North Queensland, Cairns Health Centre (CNSHC) is a multi-disciplinary health centre located at HMAS Cairns. CNSHC provides Primary Health Care, GP Services, Physiotherapy, Pharmaceutical, Mental Health, Dental and Rehabilitation Management services to approximately 570 Australian Defence Force (ADF) members. The team is a blend of ADF, Australian Public Service, and contracted personnel working together to provide healthcare services.The Health Practice Manager is a dynamic role that will draw upon strong skills in the Microsoft office suite, a range of software platforms used to manage workforce rosters, performance reporting, budget allocations, work health and safety, contractual requirements, and health policy and governance. The successful candidate will require strong verbal and written communication skills and will be leading a team of staff to promote a positive garrison health experience and meaningful stakeholder relationships.Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be a confident Health Practice Manager with positive verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to engage at all levels of the organisation, including external stakeholders.Must be able to work autonomously, as well as part of a team, prioritise workload when faced with competing demands, and comply with policy, procedures, legislation and regulatory frameworks.Must demonstrate the ability to independently motivate clinicians and support staff to achieve key healthcare deliverables for members of the Australian Defence Force.Effectively and efficiently manage resources in areas of workforce, equipment and stores, facilities, maintenance, and finance.The successful candidate will embody the highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.The successful candidate will bring a strong background in clinical leadership to provide coaching and on-the-job training for newer and less experienced team members.
