Job description

Our participants, Our people, Our purpose

Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

We have an exciting opportunity to join an innovative and dynamic team as an APS5 Project Officer in the Service Delivery Group National Remote Services branch.

The Remote Services Branch responsibility is to enhance the NDIS experience and outcomes for people with disability living in Remote and Very Remote Australia through a more coordinated, “Whole of Agency” approach to service delivery. The branch supports the National Delivery Division to meet its responsibilities in geographically remote communities across Australia.

As an APS5 Project Officer, you will have the ability to apply your own creativity and expertise within necessary policy, procedures, and guidelines to contribute to project objectives. You will interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, leveraging relationships to resolve complex enquiries.

This role is Identified – an Identified position refers to the job role.

This role will play an integral role in achieving place-based outcomes in remote Northern Territory communities by working collaboratively with complex stakeholders such as Traditional Owners and community-based Councils and mainstream and Government agencies.

Where you can add value

In this challenging role, you will contribute to the team goals and objectives and have meaningful impact. You will be actively involved in project management and coordination, monitoring and reviewing programs and project activities against budgets.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to the development of project plans and schedules within the Agencies project management framework
  • Provide advice and guidance in specific areas of project work
  • Conduct research and analysis and prepare reports to inform strategic decisions
  • Drafting various written materials and reports for review
Enough about us, let’s talk about you

We’re looking for a driven team member who thrives in a team environment. You will have a strong background in project management and be skilled in collaborating and coordinating with team members to achieve project outcomes. You will have a high attention to detail, ensuring all tasks and deliverables meet the highest standards of quality. You will be adaptable, quick to navigate changing circumstances and seamlessly adjusting your approach to meet evolving needs.

If you are an adaptable collaborator, with a high attention to detail and strong project background, we encourage you to apply.

Your NDIA Experience
