About the Role
The Landscape Architectural Services branch provides expert solutions in the planning, development and delivery of urban designs that will support and align to council’s vision and urban design and placemaking management.
The Landscape Architect provides guidance, leadership and support to the Landscape Architecture Services team, Coordinator Landscape Architecture Services and the Design and Placemaking Manager to facilitate the implementation of project designs, and to lead the organisation and community on Landscape Architectural, urban design and associated sustainability issues.
- Support the coordinator and team leaders as a design officer in the delivery of allocated projects from the Capital Works Budget.
- Provide high level design skills and leadership in relation to Open Space and Public Realm projects that are allocated to the Landscape Architectural Services team.
- Liaise and provide professional advice to other council areas, consultants and agencies to ensure co-ordinated design and provision of infrastructure across the Sunshine Coast council region.
About you
As a Landscape Architect you will have demonstrated design skills and experience to confidently and positively contribute to project outcomes.
You will possess extensive knowledge and experience in design and project management of complex landscape, urban design, open space and placemaking projects.
You will have eligibility for membership of AILA as a Registered Landscape Architect or equivalent.
As a requirement of this role, you will possess a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture / Urban Design or relevant equivalent tertiary qualification from a recognised educational institution and extensive professional experience.
