About the Role
The APS 6 Case Management is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.
The Role is a leadership position that will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities. They are required to provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership within the work area.
The successful candidate will be required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. Where required, the role will coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support our Australian Government client's business objectives.
Responsibilities of the Role include but are not limited to:
- Maintain a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders and provide them with detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues.
- Undertake Case Management of complex matters, undertaking analysis and developing options for early resolution as required.
- Obtain necessary information and advice for the effective resolution of matters.
- Apply alternate dispute resolution methods and advocacy skills, resolving applications and reviews, in keeping with the model litigant principles.
- Attend Case Conferences, Conciliations and Hearings conducted by the Australian Government client.
- Prepare documents detailing resolution options and outcomes at Case Management meetings.
Key skills and experience required for the Role include:
- Individual Case Management of matters involving at-risk and vulnerable stakeholders.
- Experience interpreting information and legislation to reach an agreed resolution.
- Decision-making skills and the ability to justify decisions based on evidence.
Desirable skills to have for the Role include:
- The ability to engage easily with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to achieve individual and team goals and targets.
