The Joint Logistics Unit East is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Communications Security (COMSEC) Account Manager (CAM) to join our dynamic team at COMSEC Platoon Moorebank.In this role, you will be responsible for the overall management of the Equipment Distribution Authority (EDA), leading a team of experienced COMSEC staff comprising of ADF, APS and Industry Partners (IP).You will be accountable for the overall management of the main COMSEC Equipment Account (CEA) in Australia and will have a significant level of autonomy to enable you meet the High Assurance Cryptographic Equipment (HACE) support requirements for the ADF and Whole of Australian Government.As the CAM, you will be responsible for the receipt, custody, handling, accounting, distribution, safeguarding and destruction of all COMSEC material held on charge. You will also conduct key stakeholder engagement to identify, anticipate and respond to the needs and expectations of stakeholders and end-users. This includes:
- Providing technical, professional and policy advice, as well as contributing to strategic planning and policy development.
- Management of the COMSEC team comprising of ADF, APS and Industry Partners (IP).
- Providing clear direction, leadership, tasking and support.
- Having an advanced understanding of routine COMSEC accounting practices including the issue and receipt of HACE/CCI, SF153 management, CARDS accounting, local issue procedures, security checking requirements, domestic and overseas ACM movement procedures and compliance procedures.
- Conducting routine compliance checks on supported elements, providing assistance, guidance, and training where appropriate.
Located within Joint Logistics Unit East, COMSEC Platoon offers the opportunity to work with skilled and dedicated teams comprising of Australian Defence Force (ADF), Australian Public Servants (APS) and Industry Partner (IP) staffs who provides an essential warehousing and logistic capability as a key stakeholder in the ADF and Whole of Australian Government secure communications infrastructure.Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidates will have:
- Completed, or have the ability to complete, the Defence Cryptographic Custodian Course (DCAC)
- Held the position of Communications Account Manager (CAM) or Assistant CAM
- The personal qualities needed to organise, support, advise and lead a specialist team of COMSEC staff
- Will be self-motivated and capable of ensuring the successful delivery of COMSEC in support of ADF and Whole of Government (WoG) requirements
- Initiative and experience to analyse, plan, review and adjust priorities and work activities to meet business outcomes
- Ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions based on evidence providing detailed technical, operational, professional and procedural advice
- Stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to support the delivery of services in a high tempo environment to achieve outcomes
- Continually improving the delivery of services to the end user though changing and adapting processes
- They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
