The Armoured Vehicle Simulation Sites (AVSS) are required to deliver simulation support to a range of individual and collective training activities in support of the Combined Arms Fighting System. The Facility Manager is to maintain the facility in an operational state in support of training, learning and development associated to these activities.
The AVSS Adelaide maintains effective relationships with local units to plan, design and execute virtual and constructive simulation supported training events, inclusive of enabling after action reviews. The position will report to the SO1 Land Simulation for on-going operations and management of the AVSS. This includes governance and management of resources that enables the AVSS to deliver simulation enablers to its customers in both a land and joint environment.
The Facility Manager will work closely with their local Precinct Manager, Field Service Representatives and Technicians and Home Station Training representatives to facilitate the management of training equipment, network management, federation requirements and specific training in alignment with Army Training Level guidance.
The Facility Manager will be responsible for financial data management and reporting, facility bookings and facility security (including access management). There may be periods where the Facility manager will be required to support training activities and operate the facility outside of regular operating hours. This may include large-scale exercises or courses.
The position must maintain effective liaison with all potential simulation users. This requires regular communication with military commanders at unit, training establishments and formation level.

Land Simulation provides simulation and wargaming support to enable individual and collective training activities up to and including joint and multi-national exercises in support of the land forces’ contribution to the Integrated Force. Land Simulation supports the evolution of Army’s simulation capability through a deliberate and effective change management process, which enables the implementation of the Future Ready Training System.
The AVSS Adelaide provides direct support to local units of 9th Brigade as well as other ADF units both in the region and across the country.
