As a member of the Directorate of Defence Stocktaking, the APS6 General Asset Assurance Enabling Team Leader will be employed as part of a team who works with stakeholders across the Defence enterprise to deliver assurance over asset holdings across multiple systems in support of Defence capabilities.
The role within the General Asset Assurance Enabling Team requires an enthusiastic, self-starter who has the ability to contribute to all aspects of stocktake activities across Defence using systems and tools in accordance with policy and procedures. There is an element of travel by vehicle and/or aeroplane associated with this role. The incumbent of this position may be required to occasionally undertake local, regional or interstate travel. Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Provision of first line administrative support to all Defence stakeholders, including General Asset (GA) regional teams and Tier 3 Compliance and Assurance community, on stocktaking policy, processes, procedures, systems and tools.
- Developing and analysing GA stocktake performance and progress reports.
- Maintain formal agreements with Services and Groups to support the execution of the Defence GA stocktake program.
- Provide advice and guidance on GA stocktake investigations, remediation and reconciliation requirements.
- Support the Heritage Innocuous Small Arms biannual stocktake program including maintenance of systems and tools.
- Attending and contributing to various working groups, forums and meetings.

You will possess well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging key stakeholders through liaison, negotiation and consultation; and will develop high level reports for senior Defence committees, conduct analysis of data, maintain registers, identify opportunities for continuous improvement and be able to adapt to the needs, tasks and responsibilities of the Directorate. The position will work within a framework of legislation, established principles, work practices and procedures in accordance with Defence’s business objectives.
The position will be required to navigate the policy, process and reporting changes necessary to be implemented due to Defence Enterprise Resource Planning Tranche 1B, whilst looking forward to future Tranches.
