The Role
The APS 6Ministerial Liaison Officer is responsible for:
- Liaison with Departmental Liaison Officers across Defence portfolio minister offices and Defence Group and Service coordination units to facilitate timely, high quality ministerial and parliamentary products.
- Manage and coordinate the daily handling of internal business and ministerial and parliamentary workflow. Including the coordination and distribution of Ministerial brief requests and associated tasks through the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).
- Advise subject matter experts on the development of quality ministerial products.
- Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in ministerial and parliamentary work is preferred, but not essential.
About our Team
The Ministerial, Parliamentary and Cabinet Branch enables and facilitates Defence to provide best practice advice and services to the Australian Parliament, Ministers and the Defence Senior Executive. The Branch provides support, advice and information to ensure high standards of compliance with Ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary practices.
The successful candidate will be placed in the Ministerial and PDMS Services team who facilitate timely, high-quality ministerial products between Defence and Defence portfolio ministerial offices to deliver government and Defence priorities.
Other responsibilities include:
- Coordination of Defence’s ministerial products (ministerial briefs, submissions and correspondence)
- Quality assurance checks of ministerial products
- PDMS Training and Support
