Our client is seeking to engage an APS5 Executive Assistant on a contract.
Location: Canberra, ACT
Contract Length: 12 months
Rate: $55.24/Hourly (excluding super)
Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must be Australian Citizens
Role Overview:
The APS5 Executive Assistant (Labour Hire) is accountable under limited supervision to undertake moderately complex to complex work. The position is responsible for providing professional administrative, secretarial and research services to members of the Senior Executive Service (SES).
The position is a team membership position and is accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to an area of responsibility. The position is required to provide policy advice within an area of specialisation with advice based on policies and legislation. The role may evolve to include additional business area specific tasks depending on the direction of the line area over time.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Managing emails, appointments and preparing briefing materials.
- Providing guidance, support and quality assurance to staff at lower classification levels.
- Assisting with maintaining risk management programs.
- Maintaining a well-developed understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
- Scheduling meetings, preparing reports and documents relating to committees and projects.
- Organising travel arrangements and supporting official functions on behalf of the Chief Corporate and Commercial Officer, and other agency staff as directed.
- Identifying and contributing to the resolution of issues and problems as they arise
