The Opportunity
This is a non-ongoing contract role for 6 months, where a strong performer will have good opportunity for a permanent appointment and future career progression for high performers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is wanting to step into a Finance Business Partner role where you will worked with a highly experienced team.
Whilst those with experience in management accounting within or consulting into the Commonwealth government will be highly regarded, those outside the Public Service will certainly be considered, particularly those experienced in budgeting, forecasting, and communicating financials to non-financial stakeholders in large commercial contexts.
The Role
Key responsibilities:
Partner with the business to assist operational line areas on a variety of financial and business matters
Run group, division & branch monthly financial management reports and other ad hoc management reports
Assist in preparing budget costings, new policy proposals and financial submissions
Be the point of contact within Finance and Investment Division, to support the centralised collection of finance requests
Liaise and communicate with various internal and external stakeholders
The Ideal Person
This role is well suited to someone who is enthusiastic, communicative, and enjoys working with others to achieve outcomes. As such, excellent interpersonal skills are critical to your success in the role as you will liaising with people across Australia via email and phone.
You could be working in another government department seeking further career progression and have an interest in management accounting or you could be coming from the private sector doing similar work seeking your first step into government. What’s important is that you are known for the quality of work you deliver as having high attention to detail is important. You will also be naturally curious in understanding the numbers and will lead others to deliver outcomes in tight deadlines.
Salary / Rate
$78K - $86K + 15.4% Super
