Job description

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small and diverse team working on a broad range of external engagement activities. In this role you can expect to co-ordinate domestic and International events, prepare briefing papers for the ANAO’s executive, responding to regional and International organisations requests, support ANAO representatives international travel committees, and host international delegations among other tasks. 

Key responsibilities 

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the ANAO’s National and International peer engagement activities. Your primary duties will include:

  • Contributing to a team that is responsible for the delivery of a range of National and InternationalExternal Relations services for the ANAO;
  • Assisting with the management of the ANAO’s National and InternationalExternal Relations activities; 
  • Coordinating and supporting the delivery of National and International activities, such as organising events, National and International meetings, and visits and delegations, as required;
  • Drafting papers, materials and information for National and International conferences, working groups and meetings by ANAO staff;
  • Liaising with visitors, ANAO staff, external organisations and individuals and co-ordinating responses to correspondence, emails and other requests for information; 
  • Preparing reports and briefing material for the senior executive on External Relations activities; and 
  • Providing administrative support to External Relations activities and tasks as required. 

The work is characterised by:

  • Expressing information, in written and oral formats, using an appropriate tone and with high attention to detail and quality;

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a small team environment; and
  • A high degree of organisational and time management skills. 

Eligibility

Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ANAO, applicants must be an Australian citizen.

Security Clearance – The Australian community requires the highest level of integrity from ANAO employees. The preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified above.
