Job description

Our participants, Our people, Our purpose

Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

A new role awaits

We have an exciting opportunity to join NDIA’s National Contact Centre (NCC) as an APS5 Support and Communications Officer.
The NDIA National Contact Centre (NCC) delivers personalised and high-quality contact services about the NDIS for people with disability, their families and carers, service providers and organisations. Our participants are at the very centre of everything we do.
The NCC achieves its role to deliver a quality NDIA by providing seamless, high-quality experiences across contact channels and first contact resolution.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

This role will draw on candidates’ excellent verbal and written communication skills and will require a considerable level of contact with internal and external stakeholders.
You will hold a key role in actively managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships. You may also represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the Scheme’s interests across a range of forums.

Your NDIA Experience

The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.

  • You will drive a high performing culture that seeks continuous improvement through innovation
