We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experiencedTechnical Support Officerto assist the Radio Communications branch in Belmont.
The Role
Routine, effective maintenance, monitoring and fault finding/rectification on a wide variety of transport related communication systems including:-
- Undertake installation, testing and staging of electronic, data & communications equipment and systems, in the communication facilities and other fixed and mobile facilities
- Undertake configuration of electronic equipment as instructed.
- Assist with the basic construction of specialised equipment and the associated mechanical support arrangements.
- Assist with the preparation of technical facilities documentation.
- Contribute to the analysis and evaluation of technical issues, practices and/or procedures; to identify potential improvements for recommendation and further consideration.
- Provide basic terminal technical advice and support to operational divisions.
- Participate in relevant equipment-specific training as provided by the vendor or manufacturer.
Asset Management
- Assist in the receipt, dispatch and audit of stores items, including the upkeep of associated documentation, systems and reports.
- Coordinate the flow of equipment in stores facilities in-line with defined strategies, and ensure the required resources are identified, sourced and made available in timely manner.
- Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of external service providers as required.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policies, procedures and processes.
Delivery & Logistics
- Assist in developing and executing logistical plans to meet the delivery requirement for projects.
- Undertake preparation and upkeep of relevant documents to meet the equipment processing and delivery.
- Participate in delivery of communications equipment to relevant business areas, including undertaking basic installation and testing on site.
- Consult with business areas, which will be impacted by the equipment delivery, to ensure the stakeholders’ requirements are met.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of equipment and project deliveries with a view to propose potential improvements where appropriate.
- Coordinate implementation of project outcomes as required or directed by the project.
- Undertake responsibility to deliver minor initiative as required or directed by the project.
Other
- Understands and complies with information security policies and procedures to ensure information holdings/systems are kept confidential and utilised accurately and reliably.
- Undertakes other duties as directed.
Essential Criteria
- Cert III in Communications and Electronics or equivalent
- WA Driving licence - class C
