The opportunity
Our client is a community focused Federal Government Agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS6 Finance Officer to join the Budget and Financial Controls Branch in ensuring insightful financial reporting to enable strategic decision making.
APS6 Labour Hire hourly rate contract spanning an initial 12 months with the strong possibility of extension. Hourly rate on offer is $60.26 + Super. To be based out of our client's Richmond or Geelong location.
This contract will be within a hybrid environment, with 2 days working from home, and expected 37.5-hour weeks.
About the role
The position is a team leadership position within the Agency and will have delegated authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across a range of activities. It will provide the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the Team Membership within the positions assigned Work Area.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing credit card, accounts payable, debtors and employee debt reports.
- Shared Services Volumetric Reporting and reconciliations to confirm the accuracy of AP, AR and CC volumes reported by other Federal departments.
- Following up outstanding AP/AR and credit card transactions.
- Preparing support for direct payments.
- Liaising with Federal Departments to discuss AP, AR and credit card improvements and issues.
- Managing the Finance Service Desk for AP, AR and credit card to ensure requests are being resolved efficiently and identify improvements.
- Analyse Services Requests to identify key issues and compile educational material and updates to SOPs, Finance Policies and Confluence FAQ's, processes, and procedures.
- Preparing the Agency Employee Debts Reports.
- Preparing AP, AR, and Credit Card slides for inclusion in Executive pack.
- Developing automated processes so reports can be prepared more efficiently.
