Looking for an experienced Auditor to join our Federal Government client

Hays is currently partnered with a Federal Government organisation to recruit an APS6 Internal Auditor in a temporary capacity. This company is an independent statutory agency that is responsible for implementing programs that support a better life for those with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers.
Your new role
The APS6 Internal Audit is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents. It is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) including work programs for assessments and process flowcharts to support key processes, associated risks and controls in respect to the assurance engagements in line with Internal Audit (IA) methodology.
- Undertaking assurance assessment (testing) activities by interviewing, collecting and examining evidence against agreed engagement criteria
- Documenting evidential observations, linking to assessment objectives, and assisting with wording of audit findings/issues to improve governance, risk management and internal controls.
- Contributing to the preparation of Internal Audit reporting which outlines findings/issues, observations.
- Conducting follow up activities to evaluate sufficiency of evidence for closing issues
What you'll get in return This role offers you an attractive rate of $60.26 per hour plus super, full-time hours and an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of an extension.
